Lying Eyes by Amy Atwell

My review:
This book has it all: a challenging plot, characters full of life, a rabbit, crime and love.
In addition the author has a great voice.
I read all the night through, could not put the book down, before I had finished it.
Amy Atwell made me laugh and cry - as it has to be in a good book.

And as Cosmo, the heroine's father, has two other daughters, I look forward to read two more stories about this strange family.

What is this book about?
No-nonsense jewelry designer Iris Fortune yearns for a normal life. But life as Vegas magician Cosmo Fortune’s daughter is anything but normal, especially since dear old Dad is also a scam artist. When Cosmo’s latest scheme goes awry and he pulls a real-life disappearing act, Iris is left holding the bag.
Now Iris must be a master of illusion—play the poised partner to her politician fiancé while trying to save her father and stay out of reach of Mickey Kincaid, the sexy thief who claims he's only after her jewels.
Detective Kincaid is deep undercover and seeks Iris out because of her connection to Cosmo—he never expected to be so drawn to her. While working with Iris to find the elusive con man, Mickey learns a killer has Iris in his sights, and he must do everything he can to save her, without blowing his cover.
Mickey's put his life on the line before, but never his heart—and now he’s not sure which is more dangerous...

The Heart Moon by Tori Minard

My Review:
Tori Minard is a good observer and I loved all these details, she engaged to tell the story. The plot idea itself is very particular and compelling. The hero is a strong character and I liked it a lot when he had to deal wiith a certain dumbness of the heroine, which led her to defiance, when she'd better used her brain. - A minus (but this is my very personal view) is that Tori serves the overused cliché of the initial adversity between heroine and hero, trying not to fall in love with each other. Here I'd wish she would have chosen something fresher, less predictable. Who loves romance and believes in happy-ends, will love this book.

What is this book about?
Full length novel. Captured by fairies. When Laine encounters a gorgeous bad boy in a Portland park, she has no idea he's not human until her attraction draws her into Unseelie territory & she's captured for the period of one moon. Now she just wants to survive her captivity & go home. She doesn't want to fall in love with Roan, who offers protection, glorious sex & nothing more.

Freed by love. Roan Tanais is an Amaki - or fairy - who spends all his time hanging out with the Unseelie Court Gang, a vicious bunch he loathes. He's there to steal back the Tanais shield, a family talisman he believes can cure his brother of a deadly plague. The minute he recovers his Clan's property, he's out of there. The last thing he needs is prickly Laine Hamilton getting in the way, no matter how delectable she is.
